LINCOLNTON, SC — A suspected hit list discovered at a local middle school turned out to be a prank. WCCB Charlotte first reported the list of five names discovered at West Lincoln Middle Tuesday night.
Investigators say someone left it in a boys’ bathroom on the eighth grade hall. The Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old boy confessed Thursday.
“During his admission, he said that he had heard about these types of things happening in the past, whether it be on television or wherever, and he thought, he did it just for a prank,” said Lt. Jon Propst of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
That prank go the teen suspended.
An 11-year-old girl who, apparently just wanted some attention, told school officials she found another list of names in a sixth grade bathroom Thursday. She later admitted to writing it.
