Β CHARLOTTE, NC — CMS Superintendent Ann Clark says more needs to be done to keep good teachers in North Carolina. Β That, as officials from a Houston school district will be in town Thursday to recruit teachers with the promise of higher salaries.
Clark says North Carolina is 42nd in average teacher pay and that more needs to be done to keep the state competitive.
“It isn’t about the compensation,” said Clark. Β “But at some point there needs to be an acknowledgment of value that comes through your paycheck.”
