WASHINGTON (AP) β The Washington Wizards may be without John Wall as they attempt to take a 2-1 lead over Atlanta in today’s Game 3 of that Eastern Conference semifinal (5 p.m. Eastern tip-off). The team says the All-Star point guard has five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand. Wall says his availability depends on whether his swelling and pain improve.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) β The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies are tied at a game apiece and Memphis has the next two games at home beginning with tonight’s Game 3 (8:30 p.m. Eastern tip-off). Memphis became just the third team to win on the Warriors’ home court this season with a victory in Game 2.
MONTREAL (AP) β The Montreal Canadiens hope to continue their comeback as they host tonight’s Game 5 of their series with Tampa Bay, which leads 3-1. But Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban says all the pressure is on the Lightning after they lost 6-2 at home Thursday night.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) β Team Penske is threatening to overpower the competition in Indianapolis β again. Defending series champ Will Power broke the Grand Prix of Indianapolis qualifying record as he won the pole for today’s Indy Car race at the Brickyard.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) β There’s NASCAR Sprint Cup racing under the lights tonight in Kansas City. Joey Logano in his No. 22 Ford will be on the pole.
