Friends Remember Woman Who Died After Fall From Crowders Mountain

WAXHAW, NC – A Waxhaw mother of three is being mourned after she fell more than 150 feet at Crowders Mountain. Police are ruling 48-year-old Stephanie Anderson’s death an accident.

Friends say Anderson was driven by her strong faith.  She leaves behind a husband, twin girls, and an older daughter.  One of her pastors at Carmel Baptist tells WCCB she had taught third grade at the church school.  She also worked as a substitute teacher at Marvin Ridge Middle and High Schools.

A close friend says she spoke with Stephanie just hours before the accident.  She shared memories with WCCB saying, “Stephanie had a heart of gold. She had a smile that lit up a room…. She was the most encouraging person & a true leader. She loved & adored her husband & girls.”

Other friends are also sharing their condolences with Anderson’s mother on Facebook. Larry writes: “Your child’s life is a terrible horrible thing to (lose), it’s just not supposed to happen in that order. I pray for you and your husband to give you the strength to endure.” And Vonnie says: “We are praying for you and your family to have God’s grace to get through this and his peace and understanding.”
