Β CHARLOTTE, NC — A Mallard Creek High School football player is in jail, charged with raping a 14-year-old freshman on campus.

18-year-old Jonathan Neal is charged with second-degree rape by force. Β The girl says the senior defensive end assaulted her inside the school at around 3:40 Thursday afternoon. Β That’s about an hour after school let out.

A judge set Neal’s bond at $25,000.
