A rite of passage in the dog days of summer is off the table to Boy Scouts. Scouting leaders are now reminding troops of a new ban this summer: no water guns. The ban was revealed in a recent blog post in Scouting Magazine.
The ban was actually put in place in February, but this is the first warm season it’ll be in effect. The author explains that water guns can be used for target practice, but not pointed at another scout. Why the rule? One member put it this way: Boy Scouts are kind, and pointing a firearm at someone is not kind.
So what do you think? Boy Scouts say they’re kind, but have they lost their minds?
