CHARLOTTE, NC – As summer approaches and the temperature continues to rise, Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation have opened county pools and spraygrounds.
Pool admission is $1 and spraygrounds are free.
Spraygrounds will operate Friday, May 22 β Monday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Locations include:
Cordelia Park, 2100 North Davidson Street
Latta Park, Β 601 East Park Avenue
Nevin Park, 6000 Statesville Rd.
Veterans Park, 2136 Central Avenue (Scheduled to close for the season on July 6 for maintenance.)
West Charlotte Recreation Center, 2400 Kendall Drive (Scheduled to close for the season in mid-August for maintenance.)
Outdoor pools, which include Cordelia, 2100 N. Davidson St. and Double Oaks, 1200 Newland Road, will operate on a weekend schedule from Saturday, May 23 β Sunday, Sept. 6 and a weekday schedule from Monday, June 12 β Friday, Aug. 21. Days and times are as follows:
Monday β Friday: Noon – 6 p.m. (Including Memorial Day and Labor Day)
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Free Swim Lessons at the Outdoor PoolsΒ
Registration for swim lessons will be accepted, beginning on Wednesday, June 17, at the pool you wish to attend. Registration will be taken every Wednesday starting at noon for the following week only. Registration for lessons is done week-by-week and must be done in person. No phone reservations will be taken. All reservations are first come, first served and spots are limited.
