CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A hit and run leaves a man suffering from serious injuries and police are searching for the suspect.

The victim, a 26-year-old Hispanic male, was found at the intersection of Independence Boulevard at Charlottetowne Avenue. There are no witnesses to the crash. Detectives are viewing several traffic cameras where the crash took place.

Police told us getting the right information quickly is what makes these types of cases so challenging.

"Sometimes things happen and the person driving a large vehicle may not have realized that they struck somebody," said CMPD Sgt. Jesse Wood.  "If we get that information, we can follow up with it."

Police are searching for two different cars: a white two-door sedan and a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup with a bed cover.  The drivers of those cars have not been named as suspects.

If you or anyone has witnessed this crash or has any information, please contact Detective Kevin Allred at 704-432-2169 or Crimestoppers at 704-334-1600.
