WASHINGTON, D.C. – While Americans are remembering fallen heroes this Memorial Day, a few heroes took time to honor the children of those service members.

One of the most secure and closely guard building in the world was tranformed into a playground over the weekend.

Members of the U.S. Air Force helped kids make paper airplanes while the Marines took a beating in their hand-to-hand combat demonstration.

Some of the kids born after their parent died are just getting to the age where they can understand what happened.
