CHARLOTTE, NC – A Charlotte couple says they forgive the truck driver involved in a crash that killed both of their children.
Hundreds gathered at a celebration of life for Dobbs and Reed Eddings.Β
“It’s just hard to think that someone didn’t live a long, full life in the way that we typically define it,” says Stacey Martin, with Forest Hill Church.

Hadley and Gentry Eddings lost their two young boys after a delivery truck slammed into their vehicles May 23rd near Wilmington.Β The family was on the way home from a relative’s wedding.

Troopers say the driver, Matthew Deans, didn’t slow down at a stop light.

The two-year-old, Dobbs, died in the crash. And 8-months pregnant, Hadley underwent an emergency c-section, but the Eddings’ newborn son Reed died two days later.

The truck driver, Deans, has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle.
