UNION COUNTY, NC — Some Union County parents want surveillance cameras in all of the district’s special education classrooms. They’ll speak at Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting.
The request comes after one parent used a secret recorder to listen in on how teachers treated her special needs son.
“If there is something that takes place in the classroom, there’s not a whole lot that can be done as far as criminally, because there’s a lack of evidence,” said Marshville resident Amy Oster.
At least one Union County school board member, Gary Sides, tells us he backs the parents’ request for cameras. A bill to put cameras in all special ed classes just passed the Texas House.
