Β CHARLOTTE, NC — A huge honor for a CMS theater teacher. Β Corey Mitchell will receive the first ever Excellence in Theater Education Award during this weekend’s Tony Awards.
Mitchell has taught acting at Northwest School of the Arts for 14 years. Β He’s also directing local theater productions. Β We caught up with him Thursday night in Davidson at a rehearsal for Chicago.
“Every stage actor dreams of a Tony,” said Mitchell. Β “And it’s just amazing to be a teacher and to have such a huge honor bestowed.”
