BOONE, NC — The family of an 11-year-old boy killed by carbon monoxide in a Boone motel is suing the motel chain and several others.
Two years ago, Jeffrey Williams of Rock Hill died after he stayed at the Best Western Plus. A faulty pool heater is to blame. An elderly couple who stayed in the same room weeks earlier also died.
William’s family is suing Best Western International, along with AJD Investments, which owns the hotel, and Appalachian Hospitality Management.
Boone’s Police and Fire Departments are also listed in the lawsuit.
