Β MOORESVILLE, NC — Students in Mooresville are giving back to make sure a fallen Forest Service Officer and his K-9 aren’t forgotten. Β Jason Crisp and his K-9 partner Maros were ambushed in March of last year by a murder suspect in Burke County. Β
Monday, third graders at Lakeshore Elementary presented a Mooresville PD K-9 with a bulletproof vest in honor of Crisp and Maros.
“I wasn’t expecting this much at all,” said Officer Crisp’s wife, Amanda. Β “I was blown away by how much hard work and effort went into this.”
One K-9 bulletproof vest costs about $1,500. Β Students raised the money by selling necklaces, bracelets and dog collars.
