A 22-year-old has a year left to live and a bucket list to achieve as she fights her battle with cystic fibrosis.
Channan Petrides, a victim of cystic fibrosis, made the decision to turn down a heart and lung transplant after learning the operation risks.
‘If it brought me another twenty years, of course I’d do it, but doctors told me there was a chance I’d die on the operating table or my new organs would fail after just six months.’
This disease causes lungs to become clogged with mucus making it difficult to breathe. It can also cause diabetes or an enlarged heart.
Petrides didn’t want operations to stop her from completing her bucket list.
