
LINCOLNTON, NC– A Morganton man has been charged with murder after his grandmother was found stabbed to dead in her home.
Authorities say on February 22, 2015 the body of Lucile Miller Punch, 77, was found by the son-in-law when he came to carry out her trash, reports say he noticed a sliding door open and went inside to find the woman lying in a hospital style bed with stab wounds.
Throughout the investigation detectives followed many leads to multiple jurisdictions which led to the arrest of the woman’s grandson Chadwick Allen Bean, 40.
Police say Bean was the prime suspect after an exhaustive investigation that spanned three months.
Authorities have not released why the man stabbed his grandmother to death in her home.
Bean was arrested and charged with first degree murder Thursday morning and could face other charges.
