
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– A three-year-old boy died in a car crash early Sunday morning on the Billy Graham Parkway. Β
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a crash on the Billy Graham Parkway around 12:25 Sunday morning. Β Police say Chantee Tranise Boyd, 26, was driving a Honda southbound with her two children. Β
Boyd lost control of the vehicle and ran off the left side of the road into the median. Β The vehicle spun counterclockwise and hit the guardrail in the median and continued into the northbound lanes of the Billy Graham Parkway. Β
The rear of Boyd’s Honda hit a Lincoln traveling northbound driven by William Lamont Dublin. Β Boyd’s Honda stopped on the right shoulder of the northbound lanes of the Billy Graham Parkway.
MEDIC pronounced Boyd’s three-year-old son dead at the scene and transported her seven-year-old son to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries. Β Β Boyd and Dublin were transported to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries.Β
According to police, Boyd has been arrested on charges of felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury, two counts of felony child abuse, reckless driving, and driving while impaired.Β
