CHARLOTTE, NC– A fatal car wreck early Sunday morning has left one child dead, another injured and the driver behind bars.
Authorities say Chantee Tranise Boyd was driving with two young children in the vehicle when she lost control on Billy Graham Parkway and stuck another car head on.
Once medics arrived at the scene they pronounced a 3 year old male passenger dead at the scene and transported another 7 year old passenger to CMC Main with serious injuries.
CMPD’s Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to the crash sight to conduct an investigation and charged the driver, Boyd with with felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury, two counts of felony child abuse, reckless driving and driving while impaired.
The driver of the other vehicle William Lamont Dublin, was transported to CMC Main with minor injuries.
Police say speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the accident.
