Fireworks Fly Off Local Shelves

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β Fireworks are flying off the shelves at local stores. Β The demand is so high in Fort Mill, Red Rocket Fireworks on U.S.-21 is open 24 hours everyday through July 7. Β Managers expect the most traffic Friday and Saturday.
“I’ve been doing this since I was 16. Β Biggest year I’ve ever seen,” said customer David Collar.
“More crowded earlier on than we’ve ever been, and it just keeps building and building and building,” said Red Rocket Manager Kim Pyles.
Fireworks and the hot temperatures outside could be a dangerous combination if you’re not careful. Β Experts recommend you set off fireworks away from grassy areas. Β Also, keep a hose or bucket of water handy when celebrating. Β Finally, carefully read all fireworks labels and directions.
