Grand Jury Indicts Teen In Deadly Crash

HICKORY, NC —A Grand Jury has indicted a Hickory High School student in the death of his best friend.

David Engelmann was indicted on felony death by motor vehicle and DWI charges.  Investigators say Engelmann’s blood alcohol level was 0.09 when the SUV he was driving wrecked on 6th Avenue Northwest last August.  17-year-old Jake Robertson died.

The charges were resubmitted after a Grand Jury failed to indict Engelmann in May.
