Grand Jury Indicts Teen In Deadly Crash

HICKORY, NC —A Grand Jury has indicted a Hickory High School student in the death of his best friend.
David Engelmann was indicted on felony death by motor vehicle and DWI charges. Β Investigators say Engelmann’s blood alcohol level was 0.09 when the SUV he was driving wrecked on 6th Avenue Northwest last August. Β 17-year-old Jake Robertson died.
The charges were resubmitted after a Grand Jury failed to indict Engelmann in May.
