CHARLOTTE, NC —Β TheΒ Confederate flag debate sparked conversation not only in theΒ U.S., but across the world. Β From Presidential candidates to athletes, everyone had an opinion on the flag’s role in America and how it should be remembered.

Panthers quarterbackΒ CamΒ NewtonΒ says the decision to take down the flag was an unbelievable and historic moment for him.

“This country is about the land of the free, and anybody can become whatever they want,” said Newton. Β “With having a symbol that represented so much hatred, it’s just a triumphant to come down.”
