CHARLOTTE, NC — The deadly movie theater shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana has re-ignited the debate over gun control.

The family members of victims in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater massacre say theaters have become an easy target.  They also say gun restrictions put in place since that 2012 shooting still don’t go far enough.

“We need to have stiffer laws,” said Sandy Phillips, mother of an Aurora shooting victim.  “The second amendment says ‘well regulated’ and we as a country are far from well regulated.”

Many are calling the shooting in Louisiana a copycat of the Aurora shooting.  the murders come three weeks after jurors found James Holmes guilty on all charges.
