CHARLOTTE, NC — The City of Charlotte will spend no more than $600,000 on public safety and traffic control for the 2017 NBA All-Star game. City Council voted on the plan Monday.
The city sold a piece of land near I-277 to help raise money for the four-day event. The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority will cover any costs above the $600,000 cap.
Total expenses for NBA All-Star weekend are estimated at more than $5.8 million.
