CHARLOTTE, NC — A disappointing day in court for the family of a Charlotte murder victim.  The suspected killer rejected a plea deal, and pleaded not guilty.

Levi Johnson is charged with the murders of Davion Funderburk and Inna Gonzalez.  The men were shot during a drive-by shooting in the Hidden Valley neighborhood in 2013.

Funderburk’s family and members of Million Youth March were hoping for a sentence Thursday.

They say they’re shocked they have to go through a trial.

“We thought this was going to be it,” said victim’s uncle Maurice Weathers.  “We could go on with our life.  Tired of it; we just wanted an ending to it.  Yeah just an ending to it.”

A bond hearing will be set to see if Johnson will get out of jail leading up to his trial.
