
UPDATE: CMC officials say that the suspicious device was an electronic epinephrine auto injector, with a low battery, that was in a small black container.
The alarm was triggered by the chirping sound it began to make when the pen’s battery began to run low.
Officials are clearing the area. If there are any additional update we will post them here.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators are looking into a suspicious device that was left at Carolinas Medical Center this morning.
A security alert was issued after a suspicious device was found in the ER. Multiple crews are on scene including police, fire, and hazmat.
Hospital has been alerted to avoid area.
