$150K in Damages in Gastonia House Fire

GASTONIA, N.C.– Multiple fire departments responded to a house fire early Saturday morning in Gastonia. Β 

At 4:22 a.m. Saturday the Gastonia Fire Department, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department and the Lowell Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Black Oak Drive. Β 

When firefighters arrived at the scene they observed a two story house with heavy fire showing. After entering the house they found heavy fire in the attic.

Firefighters controlled the fire in approximately 20 minutes. Β 

At the time of the fire the resident of the home was out of town.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damages.

The Gastonia Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.Β
