POMONA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have identified one of two women who died from suspected drug overdoses at a weekend music festival at the Los Angeles County fairgrounds.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Monday that 18-year-old Tracy Nguyen of West Covina died after being found unresponsive Saturday at the HARD Summer music festival in Pomona, about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Nguyen and a 19-year-old woman died within hours of each other after being hospitalized.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis plans to introduce a motion Tuesday to explore prohibiting similar events on county-owned land until an investigation is conducted.
The two-day festival had sellout crowds of about 65,000 each day.
