Lucky Kids Hang Out With Luke Kuechly As Part Of ‘Panthers Pals’

SPARTANBURG, SC — We are eight days from the Panthers’ first preseason game. You can see Carolina take on Buffalo right here on WCCB Charlotte, your official television home of the Panthers.
WCCB Sports anchor Brandon Davidow joins us now to break down what happened at Spartanburg today.
Head Coach Ron Rivera says energy was much better at practice today, and mainly because clouds rolled in, so the temps weren’t as steamy.
Here’s a cool fact about Panthers training camp: Once practice wraps up daily in Spartanburg, then Panthers Pals kicks in. Panthers Pals is a kids club, and a few lucky kids between the ages of 6-13 get to hang out with a specific position group for that day.
Well one young gun named Ben got the chance of a lifetime: to play catch after practice with linebacker Luke Kuechly.
“When I was a kid I never got the chance to do something like this, so I think it’d be fun to go out there and throw the ball with the guys,” said Kuechly. “And I got to work on my quarterback skills, which need a lot of work, so Ben helped me out with that.”
“I thought it was fun and exciting to play with Luke Kuechly,” said young Ben.
