IREDELL COUNTY, N.C.– The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says a man shot and killed his two young sons before attempting to commit suicide early Sunday morning. Β
Officials were called to a house on Trent Road in Iredell County around 3:45 Sunday morning for reports of an intoxicated man firing a gun. When they arrived they found a man outside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Β
After entering the house, deputies found two boys, ages three and four deceased. Β Β
The suspect is at Carolinas Medical Center in critical condition.Β
The shooting is under investigation. Β No more information has been released at this time.Β
