ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have spent the past three years looking for a consistent running game.

They’re hoping that adding veteran running back Frank Gore to the backfield can give quarterback Andrew Luck the balance he needs.

Gore, a five-time Pro Bowl player who has rushed for more than 1,100 yards in each of the past four years, joins Vick Ballard, Daniel “Boom” Herron, and rookie Josh Robinson.

Ballard returns this year after missing much of the past two years with a torn Achilles tendon and a knee injury. He missed practice during training camp at Anderson University on Monday with a strained hamstring.
