Temple University presenting media award to Wolf Blitzer

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Temple University is presenting its Lew Klein Excellence in the Media Award to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

The veteran anchor and reporter will be honored Oct. 29. He’s the 15th recipient of the award, named for broadcasting pioneer Lew Klein.

Seven alumni from Temple’s School of Media and Communication also will be honored. They include “Arrested Development” and “Biggest Loser” producer John Foy and Detroit Public Television President Ritschard Homberg.

Among the past recipients of the Lew Klein Excellence in the Media Award are Anderson Cooper, Robin Roberts, Matt Lauer, Charles Osgood and Brian Williams.

Klein developed television programming and produced live shows including Philadelphia Phillies telecasts. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1999.
