Storms Knock Tree Into Home

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β A tree crashes into a north Charlotte home during intense storms overnight. Β A woman inside was able to get out safely just after it happened.

The tree cut straight through the home on Mason Drive, splitting the house right down the middle. Β Family members say they were in shock when it happened.

“Then I heard a loud boom and I thought it was a tornado or a hurricane hitting me, so I ran to the bathroom in the bedroom, took my dog with me, and we both got inside the tub,” said Katina White-Price.

White-Price says the tree landed right next to the bed where she was sleeping. Β She had gotten up to make a snack when it came crashing down.
