It’s an issue that’s always at the forefront of education, but new numbers show seven of the 25 worst-paying cities for high school teachers areΒ right hereΒ in North Carolina.
Here’s how it breaks down: Winston-Salem ranked number 24 out of the 25 cities. Β High school teachersΒ thereΒ make an average salary of about $43,500. Β In Asheville, about $43,000. Β In Burlington, about $42,000. Β InΒ Wilimington, $41,000. Β And in Fayetteville, Rocky Mount and Hickory, high school teachers there make an average salary of about $40,000.
We did some digging and found the average salary for a high school teacher inΒ America, in 2012 was $55,050.
