CHARLOTTE, N.C.- This week’s Waiting Child hits the kitchen to showcase his cooking skills.
He’s been playing games since he could hold a controller in his hand. Meet Austin. He’s 16 years old, “I like to play video games online with my friends and I like to go on Youtube watch videos and record my own.” He plans to turn his hobby into a career when he graduates by majoring in game and development graphic design.
He has another talent up his sleeve, “If I had to choose a second job it would be either owning my own restaurant or being a chef at a restaurant.” Austin says he likes to cook so we have to test out his skills. He jumps in the kitchen to make his special omelettes. He says the best part is when people love his food, “It makes me feel that I’ve actually achieved something good, something that people would like eat and enjoy.he’s the total package.”
He is the total package. He has talent, drive and determination. Austin says he’s missing out on one thing– a family, “Kids and teens need a family to live with to stay stable and to feel wanted.”
