The Australian finished 20-under-par to win the PGA Championship, finishing three shots in front of Jordan Spieth (speeth). The 2015 golf season ends with three different winners of a major, Spieth in the Masters and U.S. Open, Zach Johnson in the British Open and Day in the PGA.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) β€” Brooke Henderson won the Cambia Portland Classic on the LPGA Tour yesterday to become the third-youngest champion in LPGA Tour history. The 17 year old won by eight strokes, closing with a 3-under 69 to finish at 21-under-par. The margin of victory is the largest in the history of the event and the biggest on the LPGA Tour since 2012.

BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) β€” Pole sitter Matt Kenseth won his third race of the season yesterday by winning the Sprint Cup race at Michigan. He led for 146 of the 200 laps on the two-mile oval to finish in front of Kevin Harvick by 1.7 seconds. Martin Truex Jr. was third, followed by Austin Dillon and Denny Hamlin.

PITTSBURGH (AP) β€” Gerrit Cole of the Pirates is out for his 15th win of the season tonight as Pittsburgh is home to Arizona. On the year, Cole is 14-6 with a 2.48 earned run average.

ST. LOUIS (AP) β€” St. Louis ace Michael Wacha (WAH’-kuh) is looking for his 15th win of the season tonight as the Cardinals entertain the Giants. Wacha is 14-4 with a 2.93 ERA for the Cards, who top all of baseball with a record of 75-42.
