CHARLOTTE, NC —Β 135 local teachers have free school supplies to help their students start the new year. Β They filled their carts at the ClassroomΒ Central store in west Charlotte.
The non-profit helps children at high-needs schools in six local districts.
“It’s great because our budgets, as you know, continue to get cut, so. Β And we have a lot of students and families as well that need the extra help with supplies. Β So to be able to supply those to them, it’s wonderful,” said Shepherd Elementary Principal Teresa Waugh.
The store is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during August. Β If you want to help out, Classroom Central needs pencils andΒ STEM supplies. Β That includes calculators, protractors and construction paper.
