CHARLOTTE, NC — In the last few hours, police arrested a man they say opened fire after getting into a car crash. The shooting lead to a massive manhunt, shutting down parts of a busy north Charlotte road.
Officers say Jaquan Carter got into a fight with another man Monday morning on Statesville Road. One of the men began shooting, hitting several vehicles in the area. Soon after driving off, CMPD tells us Carter opened fire when he got into a car accident.
“A white Mustang, followed him. He came up with an AK-47 out of the sunroof and started shooting at a car going north on 21,” said witness David Stickley.
Carter is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon.
