UPDATE: Suspect Arrested After Manhunt Shuts Down Roads For Hours

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β In the last few hours, police arrested a man they say opened fire after getting into a car crash. Β The shooting lead to a massive manhunt, shutting down parts of a busy north Charlotte road.
Officers say Jaquan Carter got into a fight with another man Monday morning on Statesville Road. Β One of the men began shooting, hitting several vehicles in the area. Β Soon after driving off, CMPD tells us Carter opened fire when he got into a car accident.
“A white Mustang, followed him. Β He came up with an AK-47 out of the sunroof and started shooting at a car going north on 21,” said witness David Stickley.Β
Carter is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon.
