Rivera Pleased With Panthers-Dolphins Joint Practice

SPARTANBURG, SC — The Carolina panthers, wrapping up their joint practice with the Dolphins with a little less drama.

For the second straight day, the Panthers and Dolphins collided at Wofford College.  But on the final day of training camp in Spartanburg, no pushing, no fights, and most importantly, no devastating injuries for either team.

Head coach Ron Rivera is very pleased with the way the Panthers approached their joint practice against the Dolphins Thursday.

“We talked to our players of making sure we took advantage of the opportunity,” he said.  “We didn’t come here to be disruptive and fight; we came here to improve and get better as a football team.  And I think both teams accomplished that, and I think this will go a long way for all of us.  I think we took a step and I think we got better as a football team.  The thing I am excited about is the chance to grow.  We really do and, as I told the guys, camp is over here in Wofford, but it really begins once we get back to Charlotte.”

Last year over 40,000 people came to Panthers training camp at Wofford College.  President Danny Morrison told me that this year’s total should easily surpass that number, that should tell you the kind of high expectations Panthers fans have as we enter the 2015 campaign.
