ALTON, Va. (AP) β Porsche North America teammates Nick Tandy and Patrick Pilet raced to their third straight GT Le Mans class victory yesterday, leading all 92 laps in the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship event at Virginia International Raceway. Tandy started the race from the pole in the No. 911 Porsche, handed the car over to Pilet, then took over during the team’s final pit stop.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) β Australia’s Sam Groth beat American Jared Donaldson last night in the first round of the Winston-Salem Open. Groth won 6-7, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (5) to advance to face 13th-seeded American Steve Johnson in the second round.
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) β Davis Love III won the Wyndham Championship yesterday to become the third-oldest winner in PGA Tour history, while Tiger Woods’ season came to an abrupt end. The 51-year-old Love closed with a 6-under 64 for a one-stroke victory over Jason Gore.
