GASTONIA, N.C. — Images have gone viral of a cloaked figure reportedly dropping raw meat near a playground in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Online posts say the figure was seen wearing “floor-length, hooded attire” and “dropping meat near a local playground” outside an apartment complex in Gastonia.

According to Police Spokesperson Donna Lahser, investigators were called to meet with the manager of the Hudson Woods Apartment complex on August 17th regarding the photos. However, Lahser says that officers could not confirm that the pictures were taken at that exact location.
Lahser argues that the images “could have come from anywhere. We don’t know if this is some bogus prank someone is playing.”
