An Inside Look at Bojangles Coliseum Renovations

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β The $16 million renovation of Bojangles Coliseum is about half finished, and on track. Β We are getting an inside look at the work.

The original 9,200 wooden seats have been replaced by red and gray plastic ones. Β A new entrance for players will take them right through theΒ upgraded Coliseum Club.

The renovations also include LED ribbon boards and a new sound system.

“We know this area is already on a rebound,” said Tom Murray of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. Β “And it is starting to have, rebirth itself, as it is today. Β This we think will add to that. Β This area is important to us as a community.”

Construction is expected to wrap up in October.Β The Checkers play their home opener November 7.
