An Inside Look at Bojangles Coliseum Renovations

CHARLOTTE, NC — The $16 million renovation of Bojangles Coliseum is about half finished, and on track.  We are getting an inside look at the work.

The original 9,200 wooden seats have been replaced by red and gray plastic ones.  A new entrance for players will take them right through the upgraded Coliseum Club.

The renovations also include LED ribbon boards and a new sound system.

“We know this area is already on a rebound,” said Tom Murray of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.  “And it is starting to have, rebirth itself, as it is today.  This we think will add to that.  This area is important to us as a community.”

Construction is expected to wrap up in October. The Checkers play their home opener November 7.
