CHARLOTTE, N.C.– The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 7-year-old boy dead Saturday night. Β
Police responded to a reported shooting in the 6000 block of Fieldvale Place around 9 p.m. Saturday. Β
Police say they were flagged down by family members of 7-year-old Kevin Rodas who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Β
Medic transported Rodas to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Β He later died at the hospital. Β
Two adults and another child were also shot and sustained non-life threatening injuries. Β All three were treated on scene by medic.Β
This is an ongoing, active investigation. Β Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective. Β
