Prince Fielder hit two of the Rangers’ five home runs, and Mike Napoli (NAP’-oh-lee) and Rougned Odor (RUHF’-nehd oh-DOOR’) also went deep for the Rangers, who go for the sweep Thursday night.

MILWAUKEE (AP)β€” The St. Louis Cardinals’ lead over Pittsburgh in the NL Central is four games with 17 to play. The Cardinals nipped Milwaukee 5-4 while the Pirates were losing to the Chicago Cubs 3-2 in 12 innings.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) β€” Adam Conley slowed the Mets pursuit of a National League East title with a career-high seven innings, and the Miami Marlins blanked New York 6-0. The loss cut the Mets’ lead to seven-and-a-half games in the NL East over Washington, which trounced Philadelphia 12-2.

ATLANTA (AP)β€” Russell Martin hit a homer and drove in four runs, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat Shelby Miller and the Atlanta Braves 9-1 to maintain their three-game lead in the AL East. The second-place Yankees beat Tampa Bay 3-1 as Greg Bird homered and drove in two.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) β€” Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. confirmed that he has a broken finger and says it’s a game-time decision whether he’ll start Saturday against Georgia State. Jeff Lockie, Marcus Mariota’s (mahr-ee-OH’-tuhz) backup last season for the Ducks, will start against the Panthers if Adams cannot go.
