KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) β€” The Denver Broncos scored two late touchdowns nine seconds apart to stun the Kansas City Chiefs 31-24 to improve to 2-0 on the young NFL season. After Peyton Manning found Emmanuel Sanders on a 19-yard TD pass to tie the game, Bradley Roby scooped up a fumble and ran 21 yards for the winning score with 27 seconds left.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)β€” Mitch Moreland hit a three-run homer, Colby Lewis pitched six innings for his 16th victory and the AL West-leading Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros 8-2 to complete a four-game sweep. The Rangers now lead the Astros by two and a-half games.

ATLANTA (AP)β€” Toronto blanked Atlanta 5-0 as Marco Estrada and Roberto Osuna combined on a three-hitter. The win gives the Blue Jays a three and a-half game lead in the AL East over the idle New York Yankees.

CHICAGO (AP)β€” The Chicago Cubs rallied to beat Pittsburgh 9-6 and move within two games of the NL wild-card leading Pirates. The Pirates lost more than a game. Shortstop Jung Ho Kang left in the first inning with a significant left knee injury and a source tells the AP he is out for the season with a broken leg and a torn ligament.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) β€” Only the weather could stop Jason Day at the BMW Championship on Thursday. The PGA champion was 10-under par through 17 holes when the first round at Conway Farms was halted because of approaching storms. Play resumes Friday morning outside Chicago.
