Jets silence Colts
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) β The New York Jets are 2-0 for the first time since 2011 following another strong defensive showing.

The Jets already have forced 10 turnovers, including six fumble recoveries.
Ryan Fitzpatrick fared better than Luck, completing 22 of his 34 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Marshall had eight receptions for 101 yards and a TD, while Eric Decker grabbed eight passes for 97 yards and a score.
Luck was picked off three times as the Colts fell to 0-2.
NFL-INJURIES
Romo expected out until November
UNDATED (AP) β The Dallas Cowboys have a clearer timetable for the return of Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo, who broke his left collarbone in Sunday’s win at Philadelphia.
The team says Romo is expected to miss about two months but will not require surgery. Coach Jason Garrett says tests revealed no ligament damage for Romo after the second broken collarbone of his career.
Romo was injured while getting sacked in the third quarter of a 20-10 victory over the Eagles.
The injury makes Brandon Weeden the starter for Dallas. The Cowboys’ other quarterbacks are Kellen Moore and Jameill Showers, each of whom were on the practice squad last week.
Meanwhile, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said wide receiver Dez Bryant’s broken foot will need six weeks to heal. That would put his earliest return date at Nov. 1 at home against defending NFC champion Seattle.
Also in the NFL:
β Quarterback Jay Cutler’s hamstring injury is better than the Chicago Bears initially feared, but his status for the team’s next game is uncertain. Coach John Fox said Monday that tests showed no major damage, and he wouldn’t say if Jimmy Clausen would start when they visit defending NFC champion Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. Cutler was injured trying to make a tackle after getting intercepted in Sunday’s 48-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
β Packers coach Mike McCarthy says running back Eddie Lacy could be on the field when the team holds practice Thursday. Lacy suffered an ankle injury in the Packers’ 27-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. McCarthy wouldn’t rule him out for next Monday’s game against Kansas City.
β Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien didn’t rule out star running back Arian Foster returning to the lineup this week. O’Brien said today that Foster is listed as day to day ahead of the Texans’ Week 3 home date against Tampa Bay. Foster injured a groin during training camp, causing him to miss the entire preseason and the first two games of the regular season.
