Chester County School Superintendent Resigns

CHESTER COUNTY, SC — There are several questions about what led the Chester County School Superintendent to abruptly resign.

Dr. Agnes Slayman resigned Thursday night after a report surfaced saying she threatened to kill district employees and created a hostile work environment.

In the report, employees claim many district staff members sought medical attention for stress-related health issues and depression.  Slayman’s attorney says she never “seriously threatened to kill anybody”.

The school board has agreed to pay Dr. Slayman two years’ salary and continue her insurance benefits through next January.

The board has begun a search for an interim Superintendent.
