CMPD Holds National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is calling on local residents to remember those murdered across our area. Officers held a ceremony in uptown Friday night for the National Day of Remembrance for murder victims.
Organizers say events like this can help bring closure to the families of the victims.
“The best thing about events like this is it helps families heal each other, because they have experience and strength and hope dealing with each other having been through this,” said Mecklenburg County Assistant DA William Stetzer.
There have already been more murders in Mecklenburg County this year than all of last year.
