CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A NFLΒ referee allegedly tells Cam Newton he’s not old enough to get an unnecessary roughness call during Sunday’s game.
NewtonΒ says NFLΒ referee EdΒ Hochuli told him, “You’re not old enough to get that call.” This is in reference to a hit Newton took out of bounds after he scrambled to find a receiver in the fourth quarter against the Saints.
In the post game press conference, Newton admitted to being “ticked off” by what the referee said.
The vice president of officiating, Dean Blandino, spoke with the popular NFL referee who is denying what Newton said.
Hochuli claims he said “the difference is you were running.”
