City Council Approves Rezoning Plan for Historic Cherry Neighborhood

CHARLOTTE, NC — Big developments at Monday night’s City Council meeting in Uptown.  The council approved a rezoning plan that adds apartments, a hotel and office and retail space in the historic Cherry neighborhood.

Council members voted against the mixed-use proposal last week, but decided to reconsider it Monday.  There was one change made to the plan.

The petitioner agreed to lower the height of any buildings that are a part of future development.
