
WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — Officers arrested seven people on Friday, ending a ten-month investigation of a group that had been manufacturing methamphetamine.Β
Six of the seven were reportedly arrested in Johnson County, Tennessee, and a seventh wasΒ arrested in Damascus, Virginia.Β

Officials say Michael Lipford, 29, led the group and was theΒ one actually manufacturing the methamphetamine. The others, David Lipford, 49,Β Gail Lipford, 48, Jason Lipford, 32, Stormie Morefield, 23, Joey Church, 25, and DaleΒ Brown, 46 were the ones collecting the items needed to manufactureΒ methamphetamine.Β

It is believed that this group is responsible for the production of over two hundredΒ grams of methamphetamine.
